Do We Want to Retain the IRR ACOP and IRR/REPPIR Guidance?
News Story from 14th May 2015
The European Basic Safety Standards Directive 2013 (BSS) has to be implemented in the UK by February 2018. A key element of this will be amendments and changes to IRR, REPPIR and RSR such as EPR, which will lead to a review of the related guidance. However there is significant drive to reduce Government guidance, meaning there is a significant risk to guidance such as the IRR ACOP and IRR/REPPIR Guidance.
It has been agreed that the relevant professional bodies, such as SRP, should act as focal points for their members in identifying priorities for improvements to IRR/REPPIR, including the approach to be taken with regards to the IRR ACOP and IRR/REPPIR Guidance. The SRP Working Group has prepared a questionnaire for SRP members to highlight their preferences etc. The Working Group will use these results to understand the membership preferences and concerns so they can be highlighted to the relevant Government Departments – If you do not make your thoughts known we may lose the ACOP and related guidance so please complete the questionnaire by 31st May 2015.
